Golden Gate University is in the top 15% nationwide of colleges and universities who have committed to a large dollar grant to the Yellow Ribbon Program for our country's Veterans to start or complete their educational goals.

VA Certifying Officer
- Students need to complete and submit a GGU VA Certification Request form along with their Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and DD214 to our office to initiate the certification process.
- The School Certifying Official will submit enrollment certification 22-1999 to VA and post a projected credit on your student account.
- VA will process certification and release funds for tuition and fees to GGU. Books and living stipend (BAH) will be paid directly to student based on the bank information given at the time of application.
Yellow Ribbon
- The Veteran's Administration provides each eligible Veteran, who has 100% of Chapter 33 benefits, $24,476.79 for academic year 2019 - 2020 (fall, spring and summer).
- Once the $24,476.79 is exhausted, Golden Gate University (GGU) provides a grant of up to 50% of tuition costs (not to exceed $14,000 per trimester).
- The Veterans Administration (VA) matches the other 50% of tuition costs.
- An eligible Veteran may incur no tuition costs out of pocket.

| If the Veteran attends summer, all tuition will be covered up to $28,000. Satisfactory academic progress criteria apply both at the institution level and with the VA for benefits to continue. |

GGU tuition discounts and/or scholarships/grants are applied towards a portion of tuition costs only and may not be on top of the Post 9/11 and Yellow Ribbon. Students may not receive GGU tuition discounts and/or GGU scholarships/grants on top of the 100% tuition coverage by the Post 9/11 and Yellow Ribbon benefits.
The Veterans Administration determines the Veterans eligibility and issues a Certificate of Eligibility which must be submitted to GGU by the Veteran.
Student Veterans Services provides resources and referrals so that veterans can successfully navigate academic (and civilian, if applicable) life.

Veterans Services Coordinator, Office of Student Life
The Office of Disability Resources & Academic Accommodations provides accommodations and resources to students in order to offer equal access to education. Services are tailored to meet individual student needs. Students are encouraged meet with the disability services coordinator to discuss their needs and involvement in the disability services program.
We provide assistance with many types of disabilities, including:

The Office of Career Planning (OCP) supports student veterans in strategic career management. We help veterans identify their transferable skills which can be effectively marketed for civilian positions. OCP partners with veteran support services to deliver specialized programming that helps students communicate their value to employers.

- Resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile reviews
- Guidance in interviewing, networking and salary negotiations
- Opportunities to connect with employers

The counselors at GGU Wellness Resources know that it can take a while for the transition from military culture to civilian life to settle into place. We can help you create a plan for moving forward in the best way for you. All services are private and confidential and include assessment, referral and private support by appointment. Most services are free of charge, including the first four private appointments.
Personalized assistance with many wellness-related issues, including:
- Coping with stress
- Managing exam anxiety
- Difficulty sleeping
- Dealing with illnesses or accidents
- Concerns about substance use
- Managing commitments to family, relationships and school
